Married? Check. Happy? Completely. Ideal weight? So begins the journey...
We remember our pre-wedding selves like a distant memory. Constant workouts, the ability to avoid The Flying Cupcake, and a gown that zipped. Now that we've tied the knot, the pressure's off. But we're still eating like we're on our honeymoon. Let's take the journey back to health together...and enjoy some indulgences along the way.

I'll take it! It was tough for me to stay focused this week for some reason, so I'm happy with a 1.5 loss. Brian has been hardcore with tracking his calories, and I'm trying to stay in sync with him. Sometimes, though, it pisses me off when he's so on track. It's not his fault at all, but I sometimes interpret his being on track as automatically meaning that he's judging every calorie I put in my mouth. I want to drink two glasses of wine, and I don't want to feel guilty about it or feel like I have to explain myself! So I need to reset my mind, get back to working out a little more, and focus on the fact that we're both improving our health, and that's what's important. A glass of wine here and there ain't gonna kill me!
And 1.5 lbs/week will get me under my wedding weight before we leave for Mexico (17 weeks to go), so that seems like a doable goal, especially with workouts! Even just a pound a week will get me within 4 lbs of my wedding weight, so that's a motivating thought, for sure!!
Hope you guys are keeping warm and had a great week!

I did much the same as I did last week with much of the same results. As Colleen said, I'll take it! And trust me, Colleen, i know exactly what you mean about feeling judged on the calories. Scott is such a healthy eater that I can't help but feel defensive about my sugary indiscretions. He never intentionally tries to make me feel bad about it, but when you compare my habits with his on any given day, he always does better. Does he have an apple butter weakness? Of course. But it could definitely be worse.
Wow, I take the prize for always commenting way behind when I should, but I really do weigh in Saturday mornings and I'm reporting the info. from that. This week was really hard for me because I wasn't at home, well, at all. I stayed the entire week at Kalyn and John's in C'ville, and we had very long days with rehearsals and such. They ordered pizza one night, and while I ate less than I normally would, I still felt not completely focused. Here's the numbers, though.

Down 6 pounds in 2 weeks! I'll take it...
Nice job to you girls, too, this week! Let's keep it up!
Nice job everyone!! We're doing great! I'm going to ask for a week off this week for the weigh in. I had a crazy busy week (which is no real excuse), and I kept craving stuff that was bad for me--I had a can of Coke in the middle of the day on Tuesday, and I never crave soda! Anyways, I'm afraid it won't be a good number. I don't want that to discourage me and throw me completely off the wagon. With the Gatlinburg weekend ahead, I just think it will be better if I skip the weigh-in tomorrow, and then I'll check in next Friday, the 27, with hopefully good news. You guys should definitely weigh in if you want, though!! Just wanted to let you know my plan.
ReplyDeleteHall pass granted and honored for one full week! No limitations or exclusions.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably weigh in on Colleen's scale Saturday morning just to keep track of myself!
